Tandy leather supply or weaver leather supply .. for the tools and equipment needed is a pretty good expense . I do it and I save about .30 cents off the wholesale collar cost . just making a few collars here and there all you need is a leather punch and I use the copper rivets .

x2...if you don't want to sew you can just use the leather punch and use brass rivets like halfbreed said

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

yeah it's easy enough . I use to use the brass and nickel plated rivets but had a few rivets come loose so I went to the copper burl type . [ much stronger ] I have found that finding a good source for leather is the trick . my feed supplier would make trips to Laredo and buy the Mexican leather products and me having my tax number I could buy from him wholesale . point is I could buy finished 1'' sets of good heavy horse rains cheaper than I could buy, cut and finish out leather from tandy or weaver . it's the only way to go . but I priced some rains at tsc yesterday [ because I'm out ] and they wanted 40 dollars for a set [ WAY TOO MUCH ] I'm used to paying around 13 dollars for about 14 feet of finished rain leather . paying that much a tsc or anywhere else and you might as well go buy collars all ready made . it's all about the pennies lol they add up !!!

Tandy leather factory. You can also make collars with nylon webbing, they will make it longer and the webbing is cheaper than leather. I make collars if you want some good Ideas, check out my website www.rollingthunderec.com. If you take the link to my facebook page you can see a instructional video I made. I designed one that will stop a .22lr at point blank range. I have never had my collars cut through
