I see this everytime a dogo is brought up,i guess some just dont understand, because he bays some- is he a cull.i guess every man his own,i hunt thick country ,wet swamps, brair patches,u name it we hunt it.i can take just him,he will ,find, bay and catch.it my take 30 mins to get to a bay 500 yrds, thats to long to be caught in my book,so with him i can cast him,set tight watch garmin,if he finds,i know my chances are good i will have a hog in lil bit.i can walk to a bay 500 yrds away with him at my side ,wen he hears bay,he waits on me to un snsp him,he is graceful to a bay and catches on ear,and u have a caught hog.fits me

No sir, I understand that you have a dog that suits you. After all, that is  what is most important regarding any dog...that it suits it's owner.

Hell as long as he is putting pork on the table and you are happy with him and the way he hunts then it doesn't matter what the standered says...
If the intent of the breed upon creation and refinement was for it to be straight catch on it's intended game/quarry. Should a representative of that breed that does not function in that manner,  be considered a cull? If it is not to be considered a cull, does it do the particular breed a diservice to allow said specimens to be called by that particular breed name? If these specimens are allowed to reproduce and those undesirable traits get passed on to the offspring and offsprings offspring on down the line...at what point should it be considered a different breed? Or, should it ever be considered a different breed?

Don't be offended.

Not speaking for anyone but myself, if I had a dogo that bayed it would be culled point blank. Only because I am learning the breed & have great contacts that are helping in my goal to become a good dogo owner. I have learned a lot & and good dogo breeders that produce hunting dogs will tell you if one of their dogos bayed it would be shot on the spot. ( I was told exactly that).

But this man is happy with his great looking dogo & he gets the job done so that's all that matters. Enjoy your dogo sir.

Another reason why I said I would cull is because I'm still trying to find a good foundation stock for myself. So being that in 5-10 years I want to breed my dogos.

If what you are saying is true he bays untill you get there he is one smart dog. People get all bent out of shape if a dogo bays...standard says straight catch..but if he does what uou want him to do you have a excellent dog...

Bay & catch or straight catch or whatever, that's one of the better looking male dogos I've seen posted on here. Nice looking dog.

I wish Kane woulda bayed till I got there. Hey may have not ended up with a broke leg. When I get Kane healed up either I'm gonna have to come down or u come up. The 2 of them would be bad news.
