I've been hunting and training a lot more lately with my first (and only at this point) adult dog.

I'm worried he's gotten either a bad case of some skin rash or an infection from the vest rubbing and or mosquito bites.  Can't tell.

If it doesn't clear up by the morning (at least all the raised bumps) I'm going to take him to the vet and make sure no infections.

Appears to be just scabs.  no puss or green discharge. no smell. no fever.

In the pics you can see its basically the worst where his guardian straps go over his back and under his chin??

Any thoughts? Any remedies?

Thanks

Dogos are notorious for skin issues and most of them are mysteries. My Dogos get bumps and rashes on occasion put of no where. Antibiotics is about the only sure fire fix. You can do stuff like fish oil to help.

he rubbed a nice 1x1 inch patch of skin raw and it scabbed up after the first couple times I took him hunting outside the pen as a lead in catch dog.  the patch was right where the leash attached to the vest and when he pulled was where it rubbed. taught him not to pull but looked nasty.

nothing this serious before.  although the last four times (in about a week period) he was out I had him off leash in the pen twice and on a hunt twice as RCD, he probably ran around more than ever with the vest on.

I loosened it up last couple times but it might still be too tight.  first dog so I don't know where the line between to tight and not tight enough is??

Looks like some type of reaction to something maybe it was the soap did you check vest before you put it on the dog? Might have had something under vest that bite him like earlier stated sure dog didn't come across and wasps?

Dogos have pretty sensitive skin. Most people feed grain free foods to dogos because that's one of the main things they are allergic to. I was my dogs with baby sent less baby shampoo and don't have any problems.

Was he wearing it for a long period of time?  Those spots look to be where the vest rubs on a dog when they move in a vest but they do also look similar to bites. I'd wash the vest, and make sure its fitting comfortable. Let his sores air out a bit, could put some vetericyn spray on them too.
