My mom n stepdad are moving to fl and looking for a place to buy. Not sure their exact land/housing specs, but he is an owner operator tck driver and will probably require a place big enough to park his tck n trailer at and do lite-med maint on the rig. Im pertty sure they dont want to live in town, more than likely a lil bit in the "country". They r not big into hunting (spends a lot of time on the road) and the last few hogs hav been taken by his rig. Any info or help would be great appreciated from them.

Charles,

I lived in Jacksonville from 2004-2006.  My parents still live outside Jacksonville; in the country actually.  Funny timing- my parents house is for sale.....What specifically are you trying to figure out?

Jacksonville- like many big areas is growing.  It is growing mostly to the west and south, because the beach obviously limits how far east the city can expand.  And like most other areas, there are house s that list in the millions $$ and there are rural properties to the west that a person can buy a nice 2000 SQ FT home on an acre or so for about 200K.  There are also areas west off of I-10 that have quite a bit of properties with 5-10 acres and modular homes or trailers that sell for less.  If they want to be near I-10 and have east interstate access for the truck/trailer, they may want to look in the Baldwin and or MacClenny areas.  The MacClenny are is very nice and has all ranges of homes and property.  Several horse/stables people in that area.

My parents live further south in a place called Interlachen; it is very rural and property if available and affordable with 60 Acres and nice trailer homes.

Im not sure if any of this helps...I hope so.
