Maybe I am wrong but most pasture dogs don't need to prove that they can trail cows deep into the woods or even go find them...they usually work closely with the handler...after a few generations of dogs that don't have to prove themselves beyond these working abilities can be a problem for someone who is in the market for a hunting dog...so my advice is to make sure and do the homework...there are good dogs out there...

Them cur dogs aren't registered cuz the people behind the dogs could care less about the internet, papers, or what you think. They raise dogs to do a job, if they don't they're culled, and the ones that do are raised, and most don't see a need to advertise what they got, or the other guy might start doing their job with dogs they've worked so hard to do.

well said sir.

them cur dogs may not be registered with an organization , but you can bet the farm they have a paper trail on them . I don't know what all the fuss is about . a set of papers is just an account of the dogs ancestral lineage that if a person so desires they can trace back and contact or read about the dogs their dogs are out of . sure folks try to make a buck off of somebody else's hard work by breeding and selling by the name , well welcome to America and capitalism . as far as the ladners go , the old man is gone and I wish good luck to curt carrying on his daddy's line , I'm sure he's gonna make some mistakes along the way and who in this world hasn't . and good luck to all you folks wanting to start your own lines or whatever . just remember all them old folks that bred and sold or gave you a dog to start out with papered or not they don't just show up in your yard one day  . and remember to keep a paper trail or have them registered along the way for people years from now when you are dead and gone to look at and research with . just think about all them good dogs that turn up and nobody knows what the hell they are or where they came from . it would be a nice thing to know wouldn't it   lol       see ya next year boys and girls   !!!!!!
