was wondering same thing cause I get no where close to nine mile with my 320 and dc50 I barely get a mile before I start losing signal with collar if it collar I would get t5s

The 9 mile is marketing. That is in perfectly flat no trees bushes anything to limit signal. Depending on terrain and cover 1mile isn't bad. The upside to the T5 is the ability to use it with the 320 or the alpha. Beyond that I don't think it's much different from what I have read. Remember it can only be used with one unit or the other at a time. So if it's set up for the 320 only a 320 can track it. If u set it up for the alpha only it can track it. U can change set up as needed.

im in south la flat terrain but brush and trees and stickers are about as thick as you can get

Pines are hell on radio signal of any kind. They are also hell on GPS signal. U will get better distance in hardwoods than pines.  If u hit some farm ground u will see the range increase.
