There is no market for wild hogs here in Georgia. I was just wandering what they bring when yall sell them. Do you sell them by the pound or what?

Depends on the demand for hogs, but usually a 200 pound hog will bring 50 cents a pound. Shoats bring about 30 and in between it just varies. Depends on what kinda mood the buyer's in. The most I ever got for a hog was 65 cents a pound at 370 pounds. Pretty good money and it's really good for me because I live within 15 minutes of 2 buyers.

I just got 25 cents a pound plus a $5 head bonus from my buyer for pigs in the 100-150 range. Once they hit 151lbs they go 30 cents a pound with a head bonus, 200-250 is forty cents with bonus and so on.

One buyer around here is .40 a all sizes. The other is .30-.45 with a $5 or $10 head bonus I think

I dont really plan on selling any. I was just curious as to what they bring. What is a 5 or 10$ head bunus. Is that like an extra 5 or 10 per hog ?

Can you even transport live hogs in GA?  I hunt the SW corner and have done some research on the Game and Fish site and the Ag site but cannot find any type of permit that you can obtain to transport a live feral hog in GA.

Here in FL you can get a permit after a state inspection of your "holding facility".

Yes exactly every hog that is over their minimum weight to buy, most of the time 40-80 lb range then they give you $5, $10 extra per head on top of what they pay a pound
