I have been working with a plott cur puppy of mine and I want make a drag but since I've never done this iI'm not sire how to preserve the hide and the scent so any advice or other ideas would be helpful

You can do it a couple of ways. If it is frozen, you can refreeze it after you are done. If it is dried out, just wet it & it will still give off plenty of scent for a pup to run. We used to make long drags using a 4 wheeler & we would hang the hide up in a tree after rubbing the hide up & down the trunk. That way we knew which ones were tree dogs.
