Just curious as to what your experiences have been with the various cut gear you have used over the years, and which ones have been the most cut proof?

Please give the company name, and model/type of vest.

Thanks

Nothing is cut proof or guaranteed to save a dog. Worst damage I've ever seen was a dog with a very popular and exspensive vest on. Find what fits ur catchdog best and what fits your personal preference.  I run p&p and tejas.

Hairy holders are nice, but hands down the beefiest vest I've seen, was a P&P, and I might be willing to hold one against my chest and let someone take a good slice at me

That is like a bullet proof vest. There is no vest that will stop every bullet and if there was nobody could wear it. The more cut proof the more it restricts movement. I used to put vests on every dog. One day I went out where there only small pigs so I just took one cur and no vest. She started baying in some thick stuff. When I got in there I saw that she had a boar about 150-200lbs and I did not have a catch dog. when the boar saw me he charged my dog and I thought I just lost a dog. But she jumped up and spun in the air landing right behind that boar and nipped his butt to turn him around. She could never have pulled that move off with any vest on. Plus they are hot. So I still use them on catch dogs. But when I bring in a catch dog on a sow I take the vest off so they learn to catch so they don't get bit. They learn if they catch head on they better pick up that leg on the mouth side and turn around on the pig. There is always a big enough bad enough boar out there that can cut any vest. I want my dogs to be able to move first and protection is second. Catch dogs are not as agile as a bay dog so I will put a vest on them and cut collars on the bay dogs. But life is dangerous and nobody will get out alive.
