I know this subject has been beat to death, but I'm considering upgrading to the alpha and had a few questions 1. What are the of accidentally shocking your dog when when handheld is in your pocket or wherever you keep it? 2. If you don't think you will use the shocking system much is it really worth upgrading from the 320 with t-5 collars?

About a year ago dogs bayed on a pond infested with gators. We all looked at each other wondering who was going to send their catch do. Catch dog were on buggy about 10 yards a away maby less. In the bushes not but 40 yards yokes were yep yapping .. The hole time I'm burning my Dogo. Thinking it's him. I had it turned up all the way steadily on the button. I walked back to see wtf. Found out it was yotes. .. catch dog was wide eyed and panting. This had been going on a or several minutes. ....He's dead now. Hope this helps

I have mine set to where if you push one of the "shocking" buttons it will tone the dog. You have to pull a drop down screen and select one of the shock features... all touch screen. Then you push the button above the screen to shock the dog... I've never accidentally shocked one.
You can take the prongs off the collar if you don't plan on shocking the dog, but can still use the tone feature. It's a way better system than the 320.

Have they upgraded the tt-15 since they came out. I'm looking at some used collars and just wondering if the ones have any upgrades. The used are tt-15 also

The collars haven't changed... but they do updates on them all the time. I try to update my handheld and collars every few months.

I am one of the least technical guys you will ever see. I think the alpha is way better. You can just lock the screen to keep from messing something up or accidentally shocking a dog. Best thing to do is play with it at the house. No more buying or charging batteries either. You can roll the map and a lot more things too.

For whatever it's worth I've had mine for over 2 years and I just now broke it ( that's saying a lot ) I wear it around my neck every hunt and it's been slamed to the ground several times / submerged in water.. all the fun stuff that goes along with getting tangled up in thorns too
I sent mine in after talking to their tech support for a good while .. they walked me through all the settings and really tried hard at getting it fixed for me over the phone. Ended up sending it in and they are replacing it for under 150 dollars .. with another one
I thought that was a good deal concedering most companies would just tell me "ohh well " if they even answer a phone call
Sure beats having to go buy a new one

all I have ever needed was the 220 myself ....I have a 320 now and I do not like it .....it eats batteries and the interference with other collars is terrible mine will just tract the nearest collar if two collars interfere with each other .....if someone has a collar that is same frequency as mine and turns it on mine starts tracking that collar and I loose mine if my dogs out .......never had this problem with my 220 it would just ask if I anted to change it but it wouldn't drop a collar on me ........ has anyone seen this with the alpha ?

Parker the alpha tracks on a different style of frequency from what I've seen and has less interference than the 220/320, also what we try to do if we're hunting a big set of dogs we'll have every dogs number minimum of 2 numbers apart which will keep from interfering.
