I got a question for yall... I got a plott gyp that is 14 months old and has not had a cycle yet.  Her littermate sister has just not come in last week but as for her,,no sign of swellin at all.   Is this the norm for hounds since I have raised cur dogs all my life..

Next question is,,,, Has anyone ever had to use the shot to make a gyp cycle and come in to be bred.   And if so,,, is there any after effects for doin it... thanks

If you can put her in the pen with the one that's in heat, and if you can put a horny male next to them and let the male and female that's not in intermingle everyday and the more he "stimulates" her by licking and mounting will more than likely trigger her hormones into estrous....

Normally the heat cycle is triggered by length of day...also when one female comes in the others are no more than 7 -14 days behind...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
