Sometimes the dogs will chew up the dog houses to the point where they can’t be used but I have found that by trimming them out with metal the dogs will quit chewing on them... I also shield the vent on account they will chew this off as well...by covering it with metal it prevents rain from entering... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

I have always used plywood houses and I had a few who would chew right through the side. I had a couple houses I lined with tin and had to frame the door with angle iron. I am dang happy to be out of that line of dogs cause they seemed to teach it to the others. That looks like a good solution Rueben.

Great idea Reuben. I’ve got some metal strap laying around too. Hopefully I won’t have a bunch of toothless dogs next week......

Lacy man...the kennels are dry most of the time...but there are a few humid days here and there and they will stay wet...I do wash down every day and most days they dry off really quick and other days might take a little longer...the roofing needs to be setup in a way that all areas of the concrete will get sunlight sometime during the day...
On the real hot days if I am home I usually run out there and wet the dogs and concrete just to help cool them down...

Great idea Reuben. I have used Tabasco Pepper juice with good results preventing chewing also. The tin is a nice permanent solution.
