My buddy in SC called me when he heard Hambone was gone and  offered me a 15month old male thats doing good out of Hambone so I headed up to make a hunt brought BJ and Stanky. There was about 4" of snow on the ground. We hunted a beautiful 25,000acre plantation on the Congaree River that has some sure enough Briar filled cutovers. The Plantation owners a few of their buddies and their teenage sons were there as well they wanted to kill some hogs.My Buddy brought a  couple cur dogs too and 4 hounds for after lunch.Turn the Cur dogs out at about 10am all of them head north except ol BJ he took a crap and put his nose in a track and went south they followed the other dogs a mile or so and I hung out with BJ he hit a big Briar bed about 800yds south and sat down bayed so eased up and listened to him they got back and we caught a nice boar about 250lbs while we were gettin pics and hi fixing BJ slipped off and Bayed another Boar and then another and then another we had 4 dead in probably 30 minutes the young dogs were doing good leaving and going to the next bay.We ended up catching 6 before lunch with the curs and decided to go eat and then turn the hounds out and let me tell you they're pretty dang nice hounds. We went down to the river and turned them loose on some sign and in just a minute they had a nice boar bayed in the bed we got him dispatched and had to patch the catch dog up by the time we were done they had a sow stretched out got her and they rolled over across the creek and after a good race got a stud bayed got in there got him and they rolled over and after another decent race bayed a nice fat sow in the creek got them up at 3 and decided to call it while we were ahead.Ended up with 10 on the day in some nasty Briars and only had one injury on the dog that's supposed to be the only thing to get one lol.I sure had a great time OL BJ made me proud he shined like a new penny ,Stanky bayed his own hog too all in all it was a great day with good dog work and some comical company.I seem to remember reading on here that the hogs on the Congaree River wouldn't bay so I had to go see for myself lol!Just Ribbing Asteus!!!

Man Cracker, that was a heck of a hunt. A beautiful place, good looking dogs, fat hogs, and good company are all the ingredients for it. Hope the pup works out for you.

Real nice hunt! That’s a gorgeous place too. We hunted the river on a club all day today and couldn’t find anything, now we know why! Haha.

Y'all wore them out. Sounds like a great hunt and I bet the Plantation owners were pretty happy also. Good luck with the young dog.
