Larry Smith and made a hunt this morning and the first place had no sign. We checked a couple more places with no luck. Finally about 9:30 got a weak strike and turned a few dogs loose. They cold trailed for about a hour and bayed this boar in his bed. We knew it was thick in there and sent a couple more dogs in trying to make him break. No dice, he was not going anywhere. We got within 300 yards and started walking. Last 100 yards it was getting thick. Got within 40 yards and turned Rhino and Dagger loose. Crawled the last 10 or 15yards and caught hog. He didn’t have much for teeth but what he had he made it count. Larry and I have some dogs on injured reserve.

Dang it man.  Hate that for the dogs. Those make a feller pay some price most of the time.    Heck of a trail job cause at 11 this morning it was dry and hot in our neck of the woods.

Yeah Toby, It has been really dry here also. The dogs struggled at times but got it figured out.

It’s sure amazing how little teeth it takes to really be able to do some damage. That’s a good hog with those dog cutters as I call them. I’m sure he did his damage. Glad you got him and hope the hounds heal up quick.

Sounds like some good dog work there Cajun and a good boar, crawling into a boar hog through catclaws and briars in the heat makes a man wonder why in the heck he even does this lol.
