Well I wish I wouldn’t have to tell this story cause this story has a sad ending for us. True hog dog is what we lost today. I’ve seen some that tried to do what this one done but ain’t one I’ve seen do it better. Ole chief was a 6 yr old plott that had it figured out from an early age. He was a thinker. It’s been a many a time where me and my son would ride him where we thought the hogs were only to turn him loose and him go back 1 mile and show us where they were really at. He passed doin what he loved this morning and we will always remember the good times we had as a team. We caught this one with him this morning and the one that got him got away. Dang bud, I sure hate that for y’all! Sounds like a real nice dog, like my kind of dog. I hope you know the hog that did it and I hope you get him. Did you ever breed him to anything to have something that goes back to him?

Man I always hate to hear about a good one dying early, but I often wonder if thats not better than them making it until they can't go since its hard to leave them behind knowing you're going hunting.

That’s the bad thing man. I almost left him this morning cause we have a young gyp that is just coming in. We had plans on crossing them two next week. We have bred him before and have lost all the ones we kept. His litter we kept 3 and they have all died on us already too. This is the last of that blood we had off of that bloodline. There’s no way to get blood off of the sires side and only one guy who has one male left off the dam side. They made songs that ask if the good die young? Well I’m here to tell u the answer is yes. Mike. The male that trailed him up is really turning on now. He’s off of our old male dog that was off ur boscoyo dog. He is grinding out tracks now and seems to be figuring it out like his daddy with determination. Folks. When I say Pure Hog Dogs, I want to make it clear that over the last 8 yrs everything that we have hunted and crossed for the most part has come from Cajuns blood or crosses that he has created. He seen the signs of what a hog dog is suppose to be and we are just fortunate enuff to have the opportunity to hunt behind that type of dog. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thank you for the kind words but it is people like you that go out and hunt them and prove them out. The best bred dogs in the world, just will not make it sitting in a kennel.
