Been hunting a little bit lately. Been doing alright between me solo and once with my buddy Tim. Boar was from today solo. Sketch spoon and Misty trailed him 600 off a feeder at about 1:30. I broke him walking in and they took him 800 to the next creek bottom and set him up. 10.5 month old spoon and Misty are really trying. Lots of go, have em over half a mile just casting with and without sketch often. Proud of em for that hog, he was a pretty salty one and they were really jammin on him.

This sow was number 4 of the morning the other day. Just me solo. Struck 5 caught 4. Lost my phone going in to the 1st. Just so happened to bay the 3rd back in the same Mott and crawled over my phone on way out. Pups done good after it took a while to get in the hogs. The 1 hog we got beat by Misty was trailing solo and she come off to go to sketch bayed. watched her cross a right of way behind it. If somebody wanted to talk about rose hedge and briars. I’d bring them to this place. It’s sucks to half to go in to. 4 was all I wanted to catch by then.

The other Friday with Tim. Caught 5 sows. Finally found a boar we guess on 6 cause he finally beat the dogs, and left his mark on a few. Nothing major. Got to swap lots of young dogs around throughout the day. They done good. Lots of trailing done that day. We got in to a group finally early lunch but they were on their feet moving when we found them after the first hog about 11am.

Another morning solo sketch and pups trailed as far as a mile out and probably a total length of close to 2.5 miles in about 1.5 hours and finally bayed this sow that has pigs on her. That was a pretty good track job to watch.

They’ve been doing good, they got the idea, just waiting on them to put it all together.

Had a little fun the other morning. Grandpa has a place just north of Flatonia the hogs are real sporadic on, had a boar on camera early morning after some heavy rain and went and tried him about 9 am. Trailed him about 2 miles north and run out of country, sent dogs back south when I picked them up off the county road, they go every step of the way back to where I first cast them and found a coyote with an old snare on him willing to fight. 3 vs 1 did not work out in his favor. Pups first time to ever see one and they were sold out. Probably number 8 or 10 ive caught/bayed with sketch over the years.
