Well today was Deputy Dawgs birthday. Him, Kohl, and myself all made a round and caught 5. I think it was 4 hims and a her. No trophies but the dogs did good. I was probably most proud of Outlaw. He has been in love so hasn’t been getting hunted lately. Chivalry isn’t dead! He was telling Moon and Chica where to look and BAM, there would be a hog. He did it a couple of times. I know that what was happening because his bark indicator would show whispering and then immediately after their’s would come on showing that they were barking several barks a minute. When we finally loaded Outlaw and Moon at the end, he even stepped back and let her load first. He’s a real gentleman. It was a good fun hunt and worked out well. The young dog’s improved and Deputy Dawgs pup even bayed across the river with the other dogs AND came back across with the hog.

You can see here where Outlaw let everyone go first and then does his water sporting dog impression.

Lol, that pup of Deputy Dawgs looks a lot better than he did when I saw him last. He looks to have bounced back from his cutting. That Outlaw is sure a gentleman.

Happy  Birthday Deputy Dawg. Here we been thinking a Border collie was making the rounds but with that water entry Ole Outlaw must have some Lab in him. What in the Sam Hill is going on over there. lol Sounds like another good hunt.

Cajun you never know what’s gonna show up when get those pound puppies lol.

WOW, he for sure is better. He’s got a pretty good scar on that left hind that seems to be tight but outside of that, he’s rippin and running. He definitely wants to put teeth on them but he’s at least learned which end bites back. He had a slow start because he had to be put on IR after each of his first two trips.

It never is on “this side” is it? lmao. Sounds like a good morning Thomas. Dogs are making it happen for y’all. Seems yall are pretty consistent about going and catching a handful at a time every time yall turn out.

Thomas has those dogs trained to bring them back across that creek. Outlaw tells the others to go and then then follows them.

Slim we catch a few pretty regular, but I’d be embarrassed if we didn’t. As many hogs as we have around here, it’s a little humiliating at times that we don’t catch more numbers. WOW can vouch for this, but it wasn’t that awful long ago when we caught 12-18 head a hunt and I’m not talking about the little ones added in. The hogs have just evolved and gotten so much wilder that without adding real estate to your hunting areas, you have to quit and call off dogs.

The country I have hunted in that part of the world, numbers are there but you have to earn them. I might start spending time up there again soon. I’ll talk to TW and maybe we can go hunt the home place. If you still have my number shoot me a text. 6285 is last four.
