School was called today so we took his son and a couple of his friends out to make a little round. We had T's Outlaw and Ava and Deputy Dawgs Ray and Moon. The had a bay going in less than 10 minutes. It was on land we had no permission so T went to check it out. They had a nice 180# spotted boar hemmed up. He poked a lot in to try break them back towards where we had access. At that point it got western. The baydogs mounted up and caught him so he had to jump in and let it and throw it. T being the experienced hunter that was then realized he hadn't put his belt on with the tye ropes and his knife. At that point he had to let the dogs roll and turn the hog loose. The dogs rolled and bayed another spotted hog with only one cutter. About 150#. They were bayed with the hog backed up to the water. I worked around with the green catchdog "seen one hog" and cut him from 40 yards. He caught good and into the tank they went. He was caught good and the baydogs were doing there best to drown him. Finally out in the middle of the tank Mookie got a snoot full of water and went under and let go. The other guys ran around the tank and sent the other bulldog and caught him. Moon took a shot that went through the stomach wall so Deputy Dawg run her to the vet and we called it a day. This was the first time ol Mookie has ever been around water, his owner pretty much keeps him chained other than hand walking. T will have some pictures when he gets time.

I screen shot this picture of the first boar. He wasn’t real big but he was toothy, maybe two inches.

The dogs were keeping this one in check. I laughed at Outlaw with this hogs leg stretched out behind it. Ray was already hurt with a pretty good cut to the belly, so I was proud of Outlaw for keeping the hog off of Ray as he spun to get on him.

WOW’s bulldog getting there and going straight to the ear on his first live catch. He’s only ever seen one hog prior to this.

First hog hunt for these two young men. I doubt they’ll soon forget it.

Slim we didn’t get anything out of Lizzo. She’s been put up because she got cut on the left hind. It was stitched and she was muzzled and STILL got the stitches out. So now it’s just gotta heal. It’s nothing but skin but it would probably not feel real good with brush and briars raking it.

Good deal, no worries. Hazard of the job. How’d she take you working on her?

She did good. As picky as I am, I really can’t find anything that I like about her. She’s just a pretty nice dog all the way around.
