I like to run 3-5 depending on if I bring friends or if I am training young dogs. If you search before making a new post I believe there is a post already discussing this subject.

Depends on your style of hunting everyone is different. All you will get is what each hunter finds what works for him and his style depending on the terrain and other factors. Everyone on this board catches hogs, everyone on this board don't have the same number of dogs, so everything works from 1 dog to 12 dogs. Cool

When we first started we would run alot of dogs. Sometimes 8 or 10. The longer we hunt the less dogs we hunt. Ive been by myself and just had one strike dog and a catchdog. With the right dogs you can get it done with 1 or however many you want to handle. My main reason for not wanting to carry more than 3 or 4 is having to handle all the extra dogs. So I guess my answer is 3 or 4 dogs. Grin

If we are hunting by ourselves, we usually take 2 best strike dogs, 2 strike dogs in training and 1 catch dog. When we hunt with other people it really doesn't matter as long as everyone gets to work their dogs and has a good time.  Tongue
