I want to here u doggers first hog huntin stories
Mine was with friends, we drove up on a small property with a real bad hog problem in the middle of a drought.we did not have any cd just my friend strike doh ,stone his friends strike dogs pancho and an enexperienced pup all we had to kill the hogs were a couple of knives and a .44mag. We turned the dogs loose on the dirt road while we road in a truch .we stopped the truck and killed the engine and listened while the dogs were sniffing aruond . All of a sudden we heard a loud deep grunt in some brush by the side of the road my friend said "get the gun" so I did. The pig knew something was up and ran with the dogs on her tail they eventually bayed up about a quater mile from where we were.we went after the dogs on foot .we cought up to the bay and we could only see 10 yds in front of use cause of the brush then without warning the brush just started breaking and the hog broke my fiend got a shot off at the pig but right when he pulled the trigger it turned a little and ran off. The dogs chased the pig a good 45 min then lost the hog .so it was that hogs lucky day . We gathered up all the hogs and went to a section of the property that a dream was close by we turned the dogs loose and not even 10 min we had a bay we sneaked into the bay . Again we could bairly see my friend with the gun took a shot at the hog and it wene down immediatly but to him something was wrong he still say 1 still up the he realized ther were 2 hogs he took another shot and then we heard a lot of sqeelingwe got closer and we saw a decent sized sow maybe 110 anyway my friend hit the hog in the shoulder but did not hit any vitals so he told me to get a knife but I left it at home so he legged the hog and told me to get the knife off his belt and told me to stick it low behind the sholder so I did and we let the hog bleed out and tooke a couple of steps back and just as we let our gaurd down the sow tried to hop up and get us but our sd pancho got the hog and the sow bleed out
