Several of us from the boards got together this evening for a quick hunt after work. Matt_aggie04, Circle C, Aladatrot, JML, Clay and myself had a good time and caught a good boar hog. He went 210# on the scales and had some real nice teeth.

Little bit of both Richard, me and Chris rode horses and all the other walked.  This was the first time I had ever rode a horse while hog hunting and I really liked it!  Mike has more pics that maybe we can get him and Sean to post of Chris dragging the hog out and all that good stuff, her are the pics that I took.  I might also add that it is a miracle none of us got bit by a snake yesterday, we must have seen at least ten water mocasins  Shocked

Matt and I were on horses. Mike, Clay, and Mandi were on the ground with the snakes. Grin

It was a good hunt, and good times, sure glad I was high up and out of striking distance. Probably saw 10 cotton mouths, a few pretty good sized ones.

Hog was real nice, pictures don't really do justice on his ivory.

Nice. That is how you take charge there Wink. I think if i went i would have to of faked an ol football injury to get me on of them horses too Grin. You know i hunted once with a horse down in beumont on a HUGE 20k ranch and it was awsome to ride right on top and tie off and turn around and flip the hog and not take more than a couple steps Grin.

I figured circle was on the horse i can tell by the pics with him in them Grin He still looks dry and clean Wink. Yea that was a good hog. Glad all the dogs were ok.

that was because you fell getting off the horse Grin. J/k I cant wait to go back to beumont and hunt off them horses again it was fun. My bulldog rode the sadle with me and it works great. Do yall have to just have a running catch dog when there is no one to lead?

I hunt with a RCD, but we have also led bulldogs while horseback. Just clip two leads together, and you have a long enough lead for the bulldog.

Sean where were you, sure missed out on a perfect video oppertunity. This hog bayed up in a fallen tree top with limbs about big around as a soccer ball it was almost like a tunnel. Caly and Mike cut the catchdogs loose and it was pretty cool watching them climb over the big limbs. Then when I got there and climbed on top of them I was a couple feet above them looking down, I laid down on a limb reached down and grabbed a leg about that time Mike made his way around the other side and got him flipped. It was pretty exciting hunt, your gonna have to teach mike how to use that camera. Lets do it again soon.

Great hog, and sounds like a fun time!  (Other than the snake part...I myself don't even like big worms!  Wink

I really admire the group you guys have.  Around here I always seem to have trouble finding people without dogs that want to come along, and then those that DO have their own dogs want to bring the whole kennel every time in the woods.  I just have never been able to make myself like hunting a bunch of dogs at a time.  Everyone bringing a dog or two is a lot more enjoyable in my opinion.  Sure looks like you guys are a bunch of good folks that are respectful of each other.

Congrats again on a great time in the woods!!

Bryant, we all have the same ideas about dogs and the way we hunt... it works out great.

We all invite each other to our different places and always ask the "host" what dogs to bring.
