Had a nice short hunt at Coleman last night. Wes jumped in the truck with me and brought a couple dogs, I had two old finished dogs and pair of Dogos. We drove the 4 hrs and got there before dark unhooked the trailer (new 24x6'8" GN, from Craig Grin) And made some rounds checking cattle, (we will be cleaning this place off in 2 weeks),  looking for the two horses we were picking up, and trying not to run over any of the 200 deer we saw. and finally we got on a hog track. The dogs got out run in the oak brush and all came back except Boomer. We hunted around another hour and a half and headed back up to headquarters. We pulled up to the trailer and got out and I heard Boomer's big chop and heard a sounder of about 20 hogs grunting and milling. Our other three dogs flew in to help and had a great bay going just behind a big hay barn. They were holding the sounder well......until I drove to close in the truck. Bay broke and the curs stretched one out and I let my little Dogo help them. Got the little short legged hog killed and rolled Smoke out for the sounder, Boomer and Smoke came back to the truck as we were tracking to them, didn't get another bark.

We found the horses loaded everything up and headed back to Quitaque, We had a good steak in Abilene and made it home about 2 o'clock this morning. I think Wes got a pic of the one little hog maybe he will post it. Not a big pig but we had a nice evening getting out of our home country.

Thanks,

Paul T

The family that ownes that ranch also have one in Hamilton, Spur, and Floydada. I run their shipping and branding and any other problems they need taken care of. We will be shipping cattle off the Spur, Coleman and Hamilton ranches in the next 45 days. They have some wild stuff so we will be baying and roping and darting a bunch of big grown cows and bulls as well as penning the yearlings. I hope to get some good pics of the action and the dogs working.

I honestly would rather rope the grown stuff if they are in a good spot, but we do dart quite a few. And you are right it can get a little western real quick after the darting. Grin
