My personal advice to you is buy a pit and tell your parents its a staffordshire terrior. The things your expecting to get from a cd have little to do with breed, since you are Green to the sport dont spend money on a dogo until you have been on 50 hogs or so then decide what you want...until then pits are easier to come by and to replace. .02

Kevin, If one dog is good. 35 is better, and 50 is better than that.

I just don't know about some of these questions . Do you hunt at all, I'm sure you have hunted with buddies see what his doing see whats working for him. No one is going to give you the right answer on this particular question. You will get what's best for you depending on money, their personal preference. Then if you have the money someone is selling out on some good dogs on the dog trade, they are jam up lol j/k. I just don't know buddy .

I know this guy that has the best guaranteed catch dogs you have ever seen. There is not a hog that one of this guys dogs can't catch and hold for hours. They never get cut. He breeds them to have skin like elephant hide. You can hunt them in 110 degree heat with 100% humidity, and they never get hot. He sells them finished for less than 100 bucks.
You ought to call him. 512-359-9679 Tell him that BigL gave you his number.

I don't think he likes to talk about them online. It's better to just call him. Kevin,

doggerdude14....It is good to ask questions and be open minded....but judging from your posts and comments I would recommend not buying a catch dog and gaining more experience and knowledge from lots of time in the woods.
Some of the the things you are requesting in a catch dog are not realistic. If you are looking for a dog to go find a hog and hold it for the strike dogs (then you are looking for a rough bay dog or running catch dog)...either way....that dog will end up getting cut or killed.
In my opinion you need to hunt with experienced, knowledgeable people and gain more experience and time in the woods. Then it would be a good time to start with a bay dog and not necessarily a pit or dogo.
Good luck!

I think it has more to do with the training that the dogs gets. Most all dogos, pits, and ABs can catch a hog thats what they are bred to do, but not all have been trained to catch correctly.
I run Dogos because they do everything I need them to do, hunting or otherwise.

I'm like some of the other guys. I like pits cause they are cheaper, easier to find, and all heart.
