Had a old hound give birth to 11 total. the first two were dead when we checked on her and I helped with the third, which was hours later. Gave her a shot of oxyctocin and waited 2 hours, (vets orders) then took her in. They gave her 2 more shots and nothing. opened her up and found her uterus (?) had torn and there was even a pup in her stomach of coarse dead. So I went home with 8. The hound in bad shape, won't eat, in fact has not ate in 3 days prior, so not much milk, Let the pups nurse alittle to see if they could get colastrum, but supplemented them thru out the night. 2 died the next day and 2 more died late that night. Two days later one of the pups died and could move its rear legs. The remaining three are 8 days old and now one of them became listless and started having diarrhea. Separted him from the other two and feeding him watered down gatoraid. Is there something else to do? I am feeding these pups goat milk.
