Walmart Hogs!!!!

Well, y'all won't believe this, but I got a call yesterday from Walmart saying they had two BIG hogs coming in every night. They were rooting around down the side of their parking lot and scaring the customers and employees... even chased one woman. After a little research and the help from one of my contacts with the Sherriff's Dept., we found out who owned the adjoining property and got permission to go in after the dogs. We even had an HPD officer that was called out about the hogs the night before on standby wanting to go with us. Clay, Chris and Mandi met me up there this evening to see what we could do. We could have dumped the dogs when we got there, but we wanted to see these hogs come wandering around the parking lot. So we sat in the trucks and waited... in the heat. Then we watched a homeless guy wander into the woods near where the hog trail came out. Sure enough, about 9:30, here came the hogs... cars driving by didn't phase them one bit. Chris drove down past them and we were gonna dump the bulldogs from both directions, but when he opened the tailgate the hogs ran back to the woods. So we dumped the cur dogs and they were bayed in a minute. Cut the bulldogs loose and they broke. Made it a few hundred yards around a retention basin, bayed again, then broke before we got over there. One hog flew by Mandi and I with three dogs right behind it. I caught up Clifford and Clay got Jug, but Tater and Tyson were still loose. That hog ran right back to where we started and was bayed solid. We got within 40 yards and it went silent... we heard a struggle and sent the two bulldogs in for back up. As we were going in, we walked right into the homeless guys camp! I'm like "Oh $hit... is anybody home!" I gues he was scared to death because he never came out or said a word... and there was dogs barking and a hog squealing 20 yards from his tent! That would be a helluva way to wake up. We stuck the hog, drug it out and called it a night. Ended up getting the smaller of the two... the bigger one was nice. I have a feeling we'll be back... as we were loading the hog, a woman that worked there told us she's been seeing 5 or 6 more on a regular basis.
