HOW MANY OF YALL RUN A PACK OF CATCHERS?
DOES ANYONE RUN 2-3 SHORT/MEDIUM RANGE CATCHERS WOULD STOP THE RUNNERS THAT DONT STOP FOR A BAY DOG.
I THINK THAT ONE RCD ISNT ASKING FOR ANYTHING BUT TROUBLE , BUT 3 GOOD SIZED (65-70LBS) SMART CATCHERS WOULD BE PRETTY GOOD.

MAYBE FINISH THE DEAL WITH A CUT FROM THE TRUCK OR LEAD IN CD .

I have chatted with a guy on Kauai that had 6 different kinds of bull crossed with a hound creating what he calls TrackaBulls. He runs 4 of them and has been using and breeding this line for 15+ years and stands by them and their productivity. From your post I wasn't sure how you were planning on hitting the pigs but figured this was the closes pack of dogs I knew to what you were explaining.

Like any other dog that you send out from a distance you will want to keep them shorter range and have a faster response to them once they lock down or you will be asking for trouble or planning on a few vet visits.

friend of mine L3outdoors (Josh White) he hunts one at a time but it's somewhat the same.  he has pretty good success.  I'm gonna be working on a cross to hunt 2-3 dogs in crop land, crp, and mesquite flats.  long legged, with lots of speed.

Cody Weiser (blackgold) is got some pups he crossed that he's gonna hunt in packs of 2-4.  shoot him a pm.

I have a pair of Dogo's I can use like that. Don't know why you would need more than two, hogs only got two ears. One works well if its a big dog and holds well.

SINCE WE DO 0.0% SIGHT WORK RANGE IS ANOTHER THING IAM AM WORRIED ABOUT. IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE LONG JUST HAVE SOME.  IN THE THICK CEDARS I CANT HARDLY EVER WALK A DOG OVER SIGN IT HAS TO WANT AND FIND IT ITSELF. SO A DOG UNDER MY FEET IS INTOLERABLE, AND A BIG DOG UNDER MY FEET IS JUST NO GOOD TO ME.

MY PERFECT DOG WOULD HAVE TO HAVE

HUNT/NOSE LIKE A GOOD OLE MED RANGED CURR
SIZE  SOME OF BIGGER LEGGY DOGS WOULD BE PERFECT
SPEED  NOT TRACK SPEED,  JUST ON THE FIELD SPEED
EXTREMELY HARD AND HAVE NO FEAR, AB OR PIT COME TO MIND
LUNG NOTHING EXTRA ORDINARY JUST BE ABLE TO ROAD ALL NIGHT IF NEED BE.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST BRAINS.

my hopes is that in a crop field and there's multiple hogs that having 3 dogs on the ground may land me 2-3 pigs.  i don't think i would hunt 3 dogs on the ground all the time unless i knew there were a LOT of hogs being seen in the area.  more times than not what i have in mind is 2 dogs on the ground and one drop dog in the truck or on the atv.  this is where Leah comes in.  if the 2 dogs catch seperate hogs and one needs help i would have a dog to drop and help them out.

this is just what i have in my mind, untested for me, so it's not worth crap til i actually get to try it in the field.  just my game plan or what i'm going to try first and then go from there.

I know a fellow here in Georgia that runs around 8 short-medium range dogs that are real rough and catchy. They are bird/bull/cattle/catahoula. He catches a good number of hogs and doesn't always get them butchered but it does happen. When they are on a hog they remind me of a pack of yellow jackets, just swarming and stinging. His dogs weigh around 40 pounds so they work best in a pack. If one finds a hog and barks, the others answer and join in catching. He would do better if he had some bigger dogs to anchor with. I myself like one strike dog and a couple of bigger dogs. I currently am hunting two 85-95 pound dogs that can hold any hog. The fellow I know sometimes looses the bigger hogs as the dogs sometimes can't hold them. Hope this helps.

I have a friend that exclusively uses these crosses, but you could tell no difference in them and a cur
