Had a good day huntin', playin', and eatin' today with family and good friends.  Started off the day early, Snappa and Chub on deck.   Walked behind them along the creek until they pulled out, shortly after, heard the bay-and-catch across the creek  Cheesy.... then the rally  Shocked... then the silence and scattering of hogs and dogs  Angry...  20 min. later dogs came dragging in, Chub took some good shots and was sore for a little while.  Just plain got knocked off their hog.   Went on to another piece and stretched out a nice little buck for a couple miles Grin before deciding it was time to break for lunch(and to warm up).  Lee brought a cooler of oysters and we made a good fire back at the cow pen in the cold, misting rain.

After lunch, was in need of another dog.... so, against my better judgement, I caved and let ol' Shine make a run... she and Snapps made several big loops before Shine threw her head up and bolted into a pine thicket with Snapps in tow... Heard the brawl-then-squawl... headed to them and cut A.J. and Jedda loose to find this sharp little boar caught nicely.

Put Shiner up after that... before I pushed my luck anymore... sure miss hunting with her.

Shiner (pissed Grin) listening to her sisters wrestling with the first hog across the creek... poor dog Grin

Snappa.... Beat down, wore out... and still ready to jump the rail and whoop ass!.... all 46#'s of her Grin  If I ever get the type of "bay dogs" I'm working for... this dog will certainly be my catch dog.... I trust her over any CD I've ever been around.

Nothing like a day of hunting and hanging out with friends by a fire. I'm gonna have to try the oyster roast thing, never could figure out how to open the little boogers correctly and they sure are cheaper by the sack.  Azn

She's 100% healthy, just on vacation until I get a litter out of her... she's that much better than everything else we have, just not worth losing her genetics for a few more hogs... that's what I keep tellin' myself anyways

Glad to see your foot healed up and you back in the woods! Dogs are looking good, better than Monkey...I am hunting him so much lately he is starting to look a little ragged.....LOL

I was picking briars out of his ears and from around his eyes this afternoon......that was a ROUGH spot where he caught that gilt..

So when you coming down for another hunt?Huh? And bring some oysters!!!
