I like to run 1 short to medium range semi-gritty dog with some big running catch dogs. It works. We catch 9 out of 10 hogs we get on if the dogs work the way we want them too. If the gritty strike dog can keep the hog occupied for 5-10 seconds, the RCD's are usually close enough to catch. The people I know that catch the most hogs run the roughest dogs. Everyone has a style that works for them and everyone thinks their way in the only good way. Find some people on here that hunt and go with them, see what they are doing, find a style that suits you.

Get a 6 Pack of Jagd terriers medium range semi-gritty dogs if one breaks they are gonna stay with it . They or little so they can get in and under the vines, briars, yaupon, palmettoes old pine cut-overs pure crap... Jagd will have bottom speed grit and quick as a cat.
Just have fun hunting . Bill

I still love hunting with dogs even when we get out run. I know my dogs aint the best by any means but I also know they work hard for me. And it is a awesome sight watching a bay dog work.

That's all that matters right there... you're enjoying what you're doing. I love to see a good bay also... one of the reasons I quit running a pack of pirranahs.

That's kind of part of what I am asking. What could I be doing that would make it worse?
