Well i had a Great hunt saterday, however the sad part of the hunt is it would be the last for- what was stated saterday my new #1. So this hunt was a tribute to Bailey. She will be missed dearly and i would give anything to have her back. However it was my stupidity why she was killed. She tried to clear the kennel and was hung and i found her dead as when i returned from a fishing trip

THE HUNT> I went to one of my best places and i did something i VERY rareley do but seemed to have done it more lately i went by my self. However my cousin did go with me and it was his first time. It was nice because i got to hunt just my dogs for a change and got to see how good they work together. Well i droped out bailey and poco and cisco and bailey and poco left out and went. Well after waiting about 10 minutes we decided to just move on hunting with cisco in front of us. We stoped as we eased closer and in the far distance i could hear a bay. As we eased closer i got off the rhino(unusual  ) But only to see a site that was meant for hog dog owner to see. Bailey was baying a nice hog off the road and i got to just sit there and watch her work while poco was baying another hog not far. She was about 6 inches from the face and she had him bayed up. Well i had my catch dog and i when i cut him loose the hog broke and ran and they were hot on the trail well when everthing calmed they ended up catching the hog that poco was bayed on and it was a 100lb little shoat. So we loaded up the dogs and went to another part of the ranch and we dropped cisco and bailey out and they left. About 10 minutes later they were baying and as we started toward them it broke and we did this for about 1hr and i knew it was getting hot so we were standing there waiting and a big black sow crossed the road and so i knew they would not be far behind so sure enough i caught cisco and poco and loaded them up and bailey came out and she bolted back the other way well shoot. So i waited and waited and decided after about 20 minutes i will just head to the truck and she will come out. So after about 30 minutes i listened reall good and i could barely hear her bayed, so we headed that way and sure enough she was bayed solid  . However little did i know that this would be her last hog. As i got in ther the catch dog caught and i seen that it was a BIG hog and it was giving the catch dog heck and so i tried to hurry in there well the hog bolted towards me and hit me on the arm and i knew this was not a stupid hog so i was going to need help so i yelled for my cousin and he was nervous as could be. The hog was in a thicket that the only was to see was to look under  . Well as i looked i seen the hog had the catch dog by the neck shaking and i knew it was just a matter of time so i told him to try to get her by the legs and he wasnt to sure so i told him to just walk closer and as he did the hog turned for him and i grabed it and layed it over and it was a BIG SOW with some good teeth. So we got the dogs water and stood there and PRAISED bailey and i told her she was now my number one. For the past 4 hunts she had found and bayed every hog. I swore i saw her smile.  . Well we loaded up and went home and i took pictures and such and as i left the house for the lake i looked at bailey and told her GOOD GIRL!!! R.I.P. BAILEY

I will post pics as soon as i figure out how to. Grin

thanks guys i am still trying to figure the picture thing out and when i do i will post a pic of her and her last hog. She was a good dog. She will be missed.  However this is the reason i now have extra strike dogs. I lost my best gyp to a hog last year and that was all i had now i have 3 or 4 finished strike dogs in my yard at all times Grin. However she was one of if not the best in my yard.
