Phillip's CD Chewy (several on ETHD know the dog) caught his last hog Saturday. We bayed about 150# Boar, it got in a thick cane break we sent in Chewy and my two big pups Max and Stroke. The hog broke but he stayed in the cane. One of the dogs found him again and Max made it to him first but the hog knocked him off down the steep creek bank on the edge of the cane. The hog broke again but Chewy caught him about 50 yards back in the cane. This hog was a bristled up spotted hog with 1 1/2" cutters, he got Chewy under the chin and a poke in the upper leg, it didnt look very bad but as we begin to walk out I was in the rear and noticed a considerable amount of blood on the ground. We checked Chewy again and found him bleeding pretty bad from the shoulder. He collapsed a few minuets later and was out for about 20 mins. Phillip and Scott took him to the nearest road and tied him, they came back and got him with the Mule and by the time we got him home he seemed to be doing better but Phillip called me this morning and told me we lost him. So here is a big high five to Chewy who stepped up in a big way after we lost Skitzer. Chewy we sure had a good time with you as one of our hunting buddies. You will be missed :'(  Chewy is the dog on the left  Chewy always heard the bay to the right of where it was, look at him in relation to the other dogs. Despite his misdirection he always figured it out! |

A dog like that can be just another cd who some hunter lost but to u and all of the doggers that have been blessed to see this dog work (even if this was on YouTube ) know ur pian and are very sorry for ur loss hogdoggerdude14  |

it always seems to be the lil ones that get em... thats sucks he was a good dog and has caught a lot of rough hogs in his time. RIP

Never can call it, Tom had that dog on at least 150 hogs, severel rank ones, and never put a collar or vest on him! I am almost scared to start taking my dogo to the woods until i get a pup out of her, she has a good handle and is a good pet etc.....loving a cd is like loving a stripper, Not Smart! RIP chewy

sorry to hear about your dog...i know i lost mine for a couple of days and i was sick so i can only imagine what it is like to lose them for good......rip chewy..catch those hogs in heaven big boy
