Chris and Mandi invited Matt and I out on hunt last night to run some corn fields outside of LaGrange.
At 3:00 A.M. we were neck deep in a creek wrestling with this big boy! Grin

Thanks guys! My camera sucks, so I think the others got some better pictures of him.

Tim, we were going to, but his tusk on the other side was broke off. :'(

We were hunting the corn and came to an area where the corn was to our left with about 50 yard of pasture to our right with a wooded creek bottom bordering the pasture.  We noticed that Smiley, Lizzie and Tweety were nose down and then saw them tracking towards the creek bottom.  We got real quite and waited....then all three dogs opened up all at once and then a very serious bay.  In no time the rest of the dogs got there and were bayed solid.  We stepped over the cross fence and cut the bulldogs loose and all you could hear was brush crashing, HEAVY grunting and dogs still baying so we eased in to find them about 30-40ft straight down a vertical bank in the creek with the hog.  The hog got his nose up in the creek bank and dogs had him caught.  I thought he was a lot smaller then he was because all I could really only see the top of the head.  I take off my valuable items, keys, wallet etc.  Ease down the bank and then jump in what I thought was waist deep water and ended being about neck deep water  Shocked!!  I get the hog legged go to stick him and I drop my knife in the water!...about this time Mike joins me in the creek for a swim and because of the thick shield has HECK getting the hog stuck.  The hog finally dies and we spend the next hour and half getting the big SOB up that steep bank by hand so that we can see what he will weigh.  We didn't score him because his left side is broken off about 2" but the right is a solid three inches but bery thick teeth.

I will say this was a group effort to say the least, had all four of us not been there to help each other out I would prolly still be down there in that creek  Grin hahaha.

You fellas guess the weight on this one and see how close you can get...... Cool

After seeing the hogs on the latest Monster Quest episode, I'm gonna have to say at least 795 on that one.

All kidding aside, GREAT hog!

Is that the infamous "HIPOCKETS" with a reply above?Huh?

Texasgirl you are good..........He was 305# on the nose.  We had to haul him all the way home to weigh but it was worth it.  I caped him out today, I will post some pics of his teeth tomorrow, they are freaky looking.

Interesting thing about the field where we caught this hog. I have only hunted this field three times, and the first time we caught nothing, second time we caught our largest hog to date, and the third time we caught this guy.
If you will notice the right ear. That did not happen on this hunt, it was from a previous battle.

Here are the dogs that made things happen.  Smiley, Tweety, and Lizzie

This photo is the first hog we ever caught in this field.

Good pics Chris!  Also when I caped him out yesterday Chris the tooth that was broken off does not even come close to lining up with the whetter and I bet was a huge cutter before it was broken off.  I will take a pics later and put it up.  Great fun with yall this weekend, can't wait to do it again!!........just give me a little while to recover, I am still sore from draggin that hog  Grin

Matt,

It took until yesterday evening until I started feeling "right" again.  Being awake from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm the next day took a toll on this porker....  I felt hungover.

I am ready to run again. Y'all just say the word, and I will get headed Westbound.
