For those hogs you kill, just cut the ear off. Definitely wouldn't use the shock collar method. Keep working with him using "caught hog" commands and choking him off. This is what has worked best for me.

If we're in a hurry to get to another bay, we just cut the ear off.

there is a older man that won a bunch of catch and tie around years ago and thats how he train his he told me he only had to spray his 2 times and they learned the command. he stills has one dog know that he takes and he walks in to the bay after we catch the hog and hollars break and that dog lets go and walks to him and lays down

Just use a breaking stick.....do you have a problem useing yours or you still can't get him off w/ a stick? I never cared for the idea of one letting go on command, may work for some but I worry like said above that the dog may come off when someone else hollers the out command I would rather remove the dog when I am ready. And the pepper spray?? come on that is the silliest crap I ever heard,if you are useing pepper spray maybe a buldog ain't for you. Blowing in the ear....IMO could get you bit in the face if the dog is already hard to break and real wound up he could nip you in the face. Just learn how to be proficent w/a break stick.

I'll tell you what I have done that works for me. I prefer those types of bulldogs so I tailor my expereince to handle those. I use a breaking stick made for me by Steve G Johnson. Its smaller tip thats tapered and blunt. it goes in the back of the mouth and you just wiggle back and forth. This causes a rebite reflex and the dog will start to open and close its mouth. When it releases by reflex you snatch it off hard so it cant grab ahold with its leags and pull itself back on (had that happen, pain in the rear). Be patient using this tech. Tryin to break some dogs off with physical force can burn you out or break the stick. Had that happen too. Dont have the experience you guys have, but thats something that works for me. Alot easier.

Man, leave that pepper spray, shock collar and other silly crap alone.  I cant belive the junk some people suggest.

If you are killing the hogs, the simplest thing is to just chop the ear. Not like the hog needs it any more. Grin  Choke off and a break stick are the best methods to remove one.  You just got to learn how to do it.  Also, look at your break stick and see how it is made.   If it is too thick or too wide it makes them hard to use.

What's wrong with just explainin to one in a way he can understand to " Get Out " and turn loose ?  Find one that has some brains and  you can do that if you work at it a little bit and stay consistant.
