i have a 4X14 trailer that has a long tongue on it. it is an old boat trailer that was converted to a utility trailer(got it in a great deal on craigslist). i'm getting my ag dept at my high school to build me a dogbox to put on the long tongue part. he said he will do angle iron, metal sides and top with expanded metal as doors. all he needs are dimensions...i'm thinking four boxes(2 on one side and 2 on the other sided). so what are some good dimensions to make this box, might ask him to build a storage on top also..all i have to pay for is materials Grin so what do think are some good dimensions...thanx

depends on what size dogs you got.  don't need a 26" tall box for a few curs and a couple of pits, but you may need a 28-30" tall box if ya got a big dogo, staghound, or dane size dog

NEED MORE INFO. WHAT SIZE DOGS? HOW MANY ? HOW MUCH OF THE 4 X 14 DO YOU WANNA USE ? WITHOUT SEING IT I WOULD SAY (4) 2X3 BOXES 30" HIGH. THAT LEAVES YOU 4X8 SPACE FOR HOG PEN OR 4 WHEELER. PUT SOME THOUGHT IN IT. PLAY WITH IT IN YOUR HEAD AND ON PAPER. ONLY YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WANT.

Rather than putting 2 on one side and two on the other, you could stack them.  Have one large open box on the bottom w/ doors on boath sides and have the top box divided. Would take up less trailor space and you could put bay dogs on the bottom and your bulldogs or a dog you are going to hold on top where they wouldnt get turned out with the rest. Just kind of how I thought of doing one for myself.
