Well it isn't because I hunt around Monkeys !! LOL
When he was young he hated being in a pen and would make the weirdest noises...he sounded like a Monkey. My neighbor actually asked if I had a Monkey in a pen, as he could hear him screeching and making weird noises.
That and the fact that he has an underbite and the old timers used to say they were "monkey jawed" when they had an underbite.
Between those two things it just seemed like he was meant to be named Monkey!

Good Lord, I just read this post was thinking that it was gonna be species specific discussing Javelinas, Turns out this is a monkey haters Thead!
seriously, the javelinas are mostly in South Texas and Hill country area. My brother-in-law was out hog hunting and had a run in with some and had a major vet bill. The dogs still wear the nastiest scars you ever saw from that run in. Those pear rats can bend in half unlike a hog, and get a dog that has them by the rear end. Longshot can tell you a couple funny stories about Jagd terriers and Javelina in culvert.

I, for one, really want to hear a funny story about jagds and javelinas. Hoping one day soon to have an amusing story of my own... about jagds and monkeys. Dirty little buggers.
