Hey Matt, don't know what you are looking to spend, and I don't know anyone selling a used one for a reasonable price, but you can get one from Hudson Bros. Trailers in Lytle for around $900 new.

That is a pretty fair price but I am going to hold out for one with a little age on it and maybe brakes on at least one axle.  Thanks for the heads up though!

Yeah I found one on CL at a dealer in Kyle that will sell it to me with a treated floor, new tires, wrap tongue, brakes on one axle for $1250 out the door.  Can't hardly beat that!

That sounds fair, I'd be sure and get one with the pipe rails instead of the angle iron though.
As a general idea, the pipe rails are on a little heavier duty trailer.

Slimpickins,
That is true about the pipe side trailers, but recently the new ones that are made are made from thin wall tubing that isn't much different than the angle iron. I guy I work with bought one and dropped a piece of metal on it and it put a heck of a dent in the top rail. All I'm saying is that if it's a new one, I would be weary of spending extra for the pipe unless you know it is thick wall.

I've always wondered why they charge more for pipe top trailers...  I guess if it was drill stem or some heavy wall pipe I could understand, but the ones I have seen are like what AnthonyB mentioned, they are thin wall tubing.    I'll take an angle iron top every day of the week over a pipe top. I like to be able to attach a ratchet strap to the angle iron when needed to secure a load.

Y'all are correct as far as now days made trailers.
10 years ago there was the lightest weight trailers with angle iron rails and 2,000 pound axles with 5 lug wheels.
At that time you could rarely find a pipe rail one with less than 2,500 pound axles with at least 6 lug wheels, more often than not they had 8 lug 16 inch wheels.
The pipe was also very heavy walled and you could use chains and boomers for a skid steer, ditch or fron end loader and never bend them.
The junk they build now (pipe rails) is thin and of course the trailers are built cheaper as well.
In high school (1996 graduate) you could rarely beg, borrow or steal a 16 foot trailer to move over the weekend.
Now, everyone has one and they are built so light and crappy, due to mass production and demand.
I'd still be sure and crawl under it and check out the structural integrity and make sure it ain't one of the "mass fabbed" light piece of junks that are out there.
