My question is do you guys like MALE or FEMALE dogs and why? I have one female dog and hopefully she keeps getting better and better I can use her later on to benefit my pack. The rest are male dogs. I like male dogs. As soon as deer season was coming to end I go out to feed and theres my female dog coming into heat.  Angry That is the most aggervating thing to me about a female.  Seems like it always happens at the best times to be hunting. So whats yalls take on it?

I have one female catchdog, and one female baydog. The rest are males. The only things i hate about males are the pissing competitions and all the sniffing around the females.
Especially when you have a new male dog hunting, it seems like the whole first hour is a pissing game. I just about had my mind made up to go to all females, but the males just kept rolling in.

If you run all females it isn't really an issue if they are in heat or not.  I really like to keep females and try to do that for the most part but I won't pass up a male dog just because he is a "he".

I use all females. It doesnt make any difference what time of the year it is I can still get what I need to do done.No problems at all. I have one male dog on my yard. When a female comes in, he is the one that gets locked up,and stays at home.

Believe it or not I can hunt my older male dog with a whole herd of females in heat. When its time to hunt he goes hunting and thats what he has on his mind. I wish they were all like that.

ALL females, I dont hunt mine at all when they are in, had one get bred one time, by a house dog.
I have two male pups up and coming, but i prefer a female 10-1. I try to keep enough females so that if one comes in, i still have another to hunt.
Just too much, hunting something to pee on instead of hunting a track, while a female is hunting a track straight off the lead. JMO

Vicks works for dogs just like it works for people, the first 10 min. you have it on all you can smell is the vicks. But after that you can smell what they are cooking 3 miles down the road. Its supposed to open up your nasal passage and it does..

i like  males  better ...though  i have  had  some  real  good  females ....  i  don't  like  the  comeing  in  heat .....  i  also  believe  a male  on the  average  can  take  a  beating a  little  better .......if  i get a male that  has  to many  harmones  he  gets  cut .......i  have  seen  some  after  being  cut  make  some  fine  animals ....... if  i didn't  need  any  dogs  for  breeding  i'd  hunt nothing  but  barred  dogs .....
