I have seen so many people asking breed specific questions, best CD, best strike, best nose, bottom, range, well you get my point. And while these are great questions in the fact that you will get several good answers and can see alot of good points on each breed, truth is there are no answers, just personal preference and opinions. What works for some won't for another. To many of these questions get turned into a debate while missing the whole question all together. No one is right and no one is wrong. By all means tell what you have experienced but why not just leave it at that, no need to bash the others that don't work for you. My wife made a good point last night which got me thinking about this point "alot has to do with the training". I thought about it and she is right. I've seen dogs with no hunting background trained and hunting before a year. Granted some require special needs in a dog and some breeds just don't take to that specific and or the training required. Just think about this when answering the next question or post. I am pretty much neutral, in the fact that I love hog hunting and all "hog dogs". Cause there is no set standard or law that states which breed is a CD, strike, bay, or what have you, nor is there a specific "hog dog". Just like us hunters they come in all sorts of colors, shapes, sizes and yes BREEDS. Besides whats next are we gonna start bashing eachother and say you can't hunt hogs because you don't wear the right boots, or clothes, or that hat won't work. I mean really think about it!
