Me and James decided to do some puppy training today. We took 3 of our veteran dogs, Foot, Red, and Rowdy, two pups that we bought from Sean out of Apache that have only been to the woods a couple of times ( Tater and Buscuit) and our new cd, Voodoo that has only had the opertunity to catch one hog. We put all 5 dogs on the ground to see what would happen. The older dogs started hunting and naturally the pups wanted to run and play, but that was okay.
After a little while, Red hit a track and took off, when he got out of garmin range we headed towards him and let the other dogs trail along. When we got to his last known position, he came back to us and then all of the dogs headed down a trail together, when all of a sudden a nice boar stepped out on the trail ahead of them. Rowdy spotted it first, which is a good thing because he is by far our fastest dog. Rowdy was right on this hogs butt when it darted off into the woods and all of the other dogs were headed that way. We killed the wheelers and just listened. We heard them bark a few times and then it got silent. We just waited. Then we saw the hog come flying out of the woods with Rowdy right behind him. They were at top speed heading around a corner about 150 yards up the trail. To our suprise, the next dog going that way was Tater (one of the pups), he disapeared around the corner as well. After what seemed like another 2 minutes the other two veteran dogs ( Foot and Red ) came barreling out of the woods on the track as well. Buscuit came out of the woods last and came back to us.
After another few minutes went by we could hear baying in the distance so we fired up the wheelers and off we went, with buscuit (who hadn't heard the bay yet) Sad   After we drove about 300 yrds, buscuit heard the bay!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin and took off to help. So this poor hog had 5 dogs baying it, then we turned Voodoo loose and we waited to hear the catch. When Voodoo caught....everybody caught!!! It was a boar hog weighing around 200lbs with some pretty nice cutters and no one even got so much as a nick. Grin Grin Grin It was a great experience for the pups and our new cd. We casturated the hog and brought it home.

Nice job,it sure is fun watching pups turn on.It seems like the squealing really does something too them.I am suprized you made it out of that with those pups without having to shoot a few staples.Nice looking pack you have there,I really like your yellow dog.
