Yep... about had enough of these head-catchy dogs... just a matter of time before somethin' bad happens.  Eventually, I'd like to have nothing but bay dogs, that WILL NOT help with the catch... some day....

Good deal... I "saw the light" several years back. Grin

Good barr hog!

Thanks yall, right now it looks more like a recovery ward than a family room....thank God for a loving wife Wink   Chub looks like she may pull through, Snapps is hanging in the balance, she took some hard shots to the body after helping catch with the CD's.

Shine is 1/4 English pointer x 3/4 Florida cur, just a really fun dog.

I can never remember even though I have hunted with them. Is Chubs or Snapper the black dog??

Hope they recover for you . Dave has been asking about going hunting, we have hogs to catch before turkey season!!

We are going Tues & Wed night, Lord willing and the creek don't rise. Will let you know how we do...if we don't get rained out.

Snapper is the black gyp.  Chub's the white one, full sister to Shiner.  They both have served well for me, just not what I want to produce in the future... there's smarter/safer ways to do what they do.

Shine's the only one with any sense, when she's out by herself I can actually relax and walk to the bay.... strange sensation Grin

Hope yall put it to 'em Mark!  I want to hear some stories of those pups of yours turnin' on in the woods!!!

I hope Snapper pulls through for you.I liked her when you hunted with Dave and I that day.She held up good during the heat, which is something my dogs don't do well. Real light footed and athletic too. Thats the kind I like....... Grin

You would REALLY have liked Spur on the hunt where we caught that barr. He bayed 3 of the 5 hogs we caught that night , by himself, and never caught the first one...even after the other dogs caught.....so, I may have to feed him a while longer.......... Shocked The other guys think I am crazy because I quit putting a cut collar on him. If he gets cut it isn't going to be because he was trying to catch!!

I'd be happy to never put a cut collar on another dog ever again Grin      Maybe some day, before I die, I'll have a pack of dogs that I can actually relax while hunting with.... Grin

I have my fingers crossed (thats why I am typing slow.... Shocked) that my two pups won't be catchy. As long as I am careful and don't hunt them with catchy dogs I HOPE they will bay more than catch. But I need to put them in the woods to see.....

We are going to have a pile of dogs (Chris, Wade, Lynel and I will have dogs) so I doubt I will even take them this week. Rather start them late than start them wrong......but I DO need to start hunting them. They are getting bigger and bigger.....a lot bigger than I had hoped they would get. I want a 50-55 lb athletic dog. These pups will be 65 lbs grown and are females. I like them so far, just need to see what they will do on a hog.
