I hope your dog is doing better. We have a vet in Vidor that hates hog hunters and you will have to motgage your house to pay the bill. There is a vet in Buna that will do the job for 100$ that the guy in Vidor would charge 1,000.My wife still takes our house dog to this guy and it burns me up.

Been following along on this thread and am real happy your dog is doing so well. I don't think I would have let that hog loose to do it again though. Would worry about running up against him again and finding him 100lbs heavier and 100% meaner. I like things stacked in my favor as best as I can arrange it.   John   Oops sorry I didn't read the post well enough and thought you barred and let go the dog wrecker. My mistake.  John

Guys just an update on old FRED, Scott picked him up this morning and Phillip fixed him a nice dry place on his front porch out of the weather. He is doing very well. Phillip says he is very energetic and acts like he is ready to go. We will need to keep him secure for at least a month maybe more. We certainly appreciate the concern and kind words of our fellow hog hunters. We also look forward to meeting and hunting with many more of you in the near future.  Paul

I have read a number of times on ETHD where people are talking about going to the emergency vet clinic.   I am assuming that y'alls vets will not come out in the middle of the night to work on a dog? Are y'all using small animal vets, or do y'all use a clinic that handle both small and large animals?

Y'all should try Dr. Spangler in Farmersville.  I had him come out after hours, did a blood transfusion and surgery, keep the dog overnight.  It was only like $240.   Dog still died but I knew he was gonna anyways.
