Cull buck had a TV interview yesterday afternoon about feral hog removal and his head wasn't to big to hunt with us none celebrities so he meet Aaron, Courtney, and I for an afternoon hunt.  We ran tank, peachez, and reggie on the ground and jag and snookie were bringing the party to em.  We caught 2 sows and a boar.

Here are a couple pictures....

"Movie Star" LOL,,good hunt and nice piggies!

A movie star....yeah right.  I need to dump my conservative family values and develop a wicked recreational drug habit before I qualify. LOL  laugh

It was pretty cool to have a platform to put our sport in a good light.  I was careful to mention TDHA, hunters harvest, and all of the great things we do for the community.  The news crew was eating it up and was almost positive the story will air. I could tell they were expecting some kind of backwoods hillbilly with a bunch of mean ass dogs....they were shocked to find the exact opposite.  Grin

What was the purpose of their interview? Were they doing a story on hogs or control....?

Did they hunt with you or just interview?

Keep us posted ...I would like to see it if they do air.

That is great that you were able to show everything in a postitive light, I think of you as a pretty well spoken person so I am sure that interview went quite well.

Good hogs too by the way!!

Bump, the purpose of the interview was to talk about the solutions to feral hog problems in and around urban areas, the damage they do, and the most effective method used in controling them....DOGS! I'm the point of contact for a multi-county multi-city contract for a feral hog removal program I've developed in conjunction with county officals, city officals, law enforement and private landowners to address the issues many residents are having.  So far its been a huge success and everyone is very happy.  This interview was the direct result of a request by one of the partnering city's Mayors so it should have some legs as far as airing.  It has taken a lot of meetings, a lot of presentations, a lot of time off from work and a whole lot of educating but it has be competely worth it....at this point I can say with 100% confidence that everyone on all levels is completely in support of our dog hunting efforts.  As dog hunters, we don't have hide what we do if we do it the right way.

They asked to hunt with us but I declined on the request because I don't think the general public is ready to see everything on the 5 pm news.  All they need to know is that we are out there and we are trying our best to help.  Plus, I explained how physically grueling (w/ a slight exaggeration)a hunt can be and that kind of convinced them that they probably weren't ready for that anyway.  Smiley

Great job man.... that's a huge responsibility once you start engaging the media.... they can turn on you with a quickness.    You did the right thing declining the "ride-a-long", the public will never be able to accept the necessity of reality.

Good hunt man!  I want to see and hear some stories about old Reggie!!!!!!  How 'bout throwin' some info in 'bout Peachez whilst you're at it Grin
