My brother Cull Buck and I made a hunt this morning with Texas J(Josh), Jenny and her son Brody. We roaded the dogs for about 15 minutes before Reggie and Peachez rolled out. As we made our way to them we saw about 5 hogs run across the pipeline right in front of us. Texas J cut his curs loose and they gave chase. About the time Josh's dogs bayed up, we could hear Reggie and Peachez baying off in the opposite direction. The decision was made that we would split up, but my brother and I were the only two that were familiar with the property. Cull Buck, Josh, Jenny and Brody took McLovin and Buddy and headed towards Josh's curs and I grabbed Snooky and made my way to Reggie and Peachez. When I got within 50 yards of the bay Reggie caught out, so I sent Snooky and they caught about a 50#boar. I swatted the curs off, broke Snooky off and hobbled it. Before I could finish hobbling it I heard Peachez sound off and then break. By the time I was done hobbling the hog Peachez and Reggie were well off the GPS. I grabbed Snooky and ran back to the 4wheeler. I saw Cull Buck and Jenny, but they were heading out to look for Josh's bulldog that was running loose as a result of a broken bay. So it was just me and Snooky again. I was finally able to pick up Reggie and Peachez again on the GPS 800 yards away and treed. I got within 200 yards and Reggie caught out again, so I sent Snooky and they caught a sow a little over 100#. I tried to catch the curs but they got coyote on me and took back off. I watched them on the GPS as they went 600 yards and treed again. So I headed that way. I got within 100 yards of the bay and both dogs were still hammering. Snooky and I snuck up within 30 yards and I could see they had a good size hog bayed this time. Snooky ran I and nailed it and all hell broke loose. I got there as fast as I could and saw Reggie on one ear and Snooky on the other ear of a big boar. I managed to grab a back leg and stick it, but needless to say I had my hands full. I tried to catch the curs again but they gave me the slip. It wasn't 5 minutes and I heard squealing again. I sent Snooky to it and the dogs caught another little 50#sow. Well I am totally spent at this point from running through the woods, and I'm only concerned with getting those damn curs on a lead. But of course they take off the second I get my hands on the hog and roll out towards the river, so Snooky and I head after them. They ended up baying about 600 yards away on the river bank in some high switch cane. I got about 3o yards out and sent Snooky in, only to see her get slammed back by the hog. She got her feet back under her and lunged back in and got the ear. I got in there and grabbed a back leg and stuck it. It was about a 130-140# boar. I managed to get both the curs on a lead and could see on the GPS that the rest of the group was coming to me. And man was I happy to see them! I ended up catching 5 hogs this morning with 3 dogs. It is a hunt I doubt I will ever forget! Snooky with the biggest boar Josh, Jenny and Brody with the last boar caught

Thanks for having us out! Perhaps the best part of the whole story (that Texas_Cur eliquently left out) was that Texas_Cur is so good at catching hogs, he actually doesn't use his dogs every time to run one down. I wish I had some pictures of you running down that 50 pound little boar. And not once, but twice! Adam one out himself on two different occasions! Sorry you had so much more of a work load on the exercising end of the hunt. Wish my crew could of helped you out but you did a heck of a good job today...

There's some thing beautiful about the simplicity and pureness of a guy, two curs, and a little gyp catchdog getting "lost" in the woods and catching 5 hogs in two hours. We've talked about the hunt a lot and I know its not one to be forgotten any time soon.

Josh, I had to show you these feet are still nice. :Dhahaha I am gonna have to get a cut vest before I take on any more hogs on foot. I had a great time with you guys and I look forward to next time.
