A crockett plott i run right now.  She has a lot of hunt to her.  Tries almost every hog we catch.  I wish she had better bay to her.  But she has found hogs in va, sc,fl,and tx.

I love the color of them crocket plotts, used to have some just like that one. my all time favorite hound was a redbone female named jill. I got her from a trade lot by accident. she was about 8 wks old. boy was carrying her, said i got you a good bear dog right here, i said how much? he said $40, just for giggles i said i'll give you $10, and wouldnt you know he said give me your money Shocked , so i ended up with a red bone pup, dad took a liking to her and kept her as a yard dog, till she kept killing step moms cats Grin so i took her bear hunting, and she took to it like an old dog, so i started hunting her on hogs too, she was pretty rough, didn't open much but, was open. but man she was fast and could shut one down. caught a ton of hogs and bear with her. she was far from perfect but she showed me alot of game.
will try to find a couple pics. her career was cut short by a 200# bear.

This is Smokey And Oppy. Smokey is a really nice young plott hound trail/bay is almost silent and gritty as a cobb. Oppy is my buddys Treein Walker is is round 7 yrs and is a very nice hound.

This is a pic of me, my grandpa, lil sis and 2 friends on our way to ok to hunt
in the middle is my robbert plott he was a hell of a hog dog. He could strike a track out of the truck of boat that most dogs couldnt take on the ground!!! Someone stole him 2 years ago!!!!!! The Blue plott on the left was his son was a year old in the pic and a hog killed him in ok on that trip.

This is blue gal she is a redistered english hound. She is 2.5 years old and a hell of a hog dog she has got heard, nose, speed, and stanima. I turned her loose one mornin and somethin went hay wire with her collar and when i found her 3 days later she was bayed... She was so give out i litterally caried her out and the hog was also weak and did not even put up a fight.

It has been an honor and a prevelige to own and hunt with these hounds. I know by no means they  were the best but they worked for me and produced many many hogs. So happy hunting to all and hope you enjoy the pics Smiley

Richard Thanks for the compliment on Chuck. He is a pretty outstanding Hound.
I am very blessed to own such a great dog and will probably never own another as good.
Ol Chuck has found us alot of pork over the years.
He is probably the smartest dog I've ever owned and I now have 23.
I've owned no less than 12 dogs since I was 13 yrs old Im now 40.
Thanks again Richard.

Great thread Matt!
I have heard of this dog Chuck and not on ETHD either. He is already a legend it seems. Pretty neat to see him show up on this board. I guess bigfoot will be next. lol.

Just an observation but, of all the great qualities  hog dogs of this caliber have (regardless of bread), the one thing that seems to impress their owners the most is their brains. They all usually claim that they are the smartest or one of the smartest dogs they have ever known.
Just an observation. Wink

Thanks for sharing the pictures folks!

Ok Matt, I finally took a little time and got a few pictures of my houndxcurr dogs. All of these dogs are 1/2 and 1/2. The first one is a redbone X bmc. He's a year old and took him out yesterday for the first time. He ran his butt off all day. Once he figures out what he's supposed to be doing he is gonna be a nice dog. Probably more open than most people will like but not too bad for me.                             The second dog is a July X bmc. She's about 1.5 years old and is really doing good for no more time in the woods then she's had. She has alot of hunt in her. I feel like she will break out at any time and really turn on.                                                                                                                                                  The third dog is my pride and joy. I hope not but probably my once in a lifetime dog. He is as solid as they come. Not the fastest dog in the world but what he lacks in speed he make up with pure intellegence. He dont miss nothing. More bottom than most people will care to follow. He is b&t Xbmc. He's a 5 year old.                                                                                                                              Heres a couple picks of some pups. They are 5/8 walker and 3/8 bmc.

Boarninja,

This dog Chuck is a VERY VERY nice dog.
I tryed everything I could to buy him about 3 weeks ago for ALOT of Money!!!!!! and got laughed at.
I hunted with them on a ranch that did'nt have alot of sign.
When we drove up to the ranch there was another dogger about to turn out So we all teamed up and hunted together.
Southtexasdogger brought CHUCK and 1 BAD Black pit. He left the other dogs in the trailer.
The other party had 6 YBMC's
Chuck rode with us on the Ranger. We watched the YBMC's work for about 1 1/2 hours with no strikes.
The curs were hunting 200 to 400 yrds out and nothing.
We ran into the landowner and he said that a couple of hours ago he seen a big pig cross the road by an old well.
So we headed that way trying to get any sign from the curs, nothing.

We casted Chuck out within 10 min he hit the track and had a bay by himself 440 yards out.
Only 2 curs went to the bay for help.
The old boy that was hunting with us had a big Ridgeback catch dog that he turned out about 100 yrds out that would not catch. Boar about 300+.
We walked in and seen him standing back baying. Very embarrasing for him.
We went back and got Socks (the pit) and sealed the deal.
Back to Chuck he is truley a Super,Super hog doggin machine.
I have witnessed him several times now do amazing things.
I or anyone else can't buy him but Southtexas has a litter of pups coming out of Chuck that should be very nice. I have my deposit already in on 2.
He also has (3) 8 month old pups out of Chuck and a YBMC thats a really nice baydog. Two of them are really working great alot like Chuck being smart.

For the Cur guys im not picking on yall It was a very windy day and conditions were tough but, in the long run Ol'Chuck pulled through again.
If I was his owner I would retire him and sell pups all day everyday.

Anyone thats ever hunted behind him knows what im talking about.
Everyones 1st opinion towards Chuck is (Oh my gosh I have to have him  How much?) and they get laughed at.

Great post Matt
