Ok ladies and gentlemen here it is..I believe not everyone has the same idea of what a strike dog is, my idea of a strike dog might be different then some but I think a lot will agree with me. A strike dog is a dog that either will leave out the second the door opens or when told to hunt-up (my command). This dog hits the woods and will not stop until he/she has struck a hog and bayed this hog and will not let this hog shake him. A strike dog is a dog that when this pig is shot, tied, or cut will roll out and find another chase. A strike dog is not the dog that runs out in the woods gets a little tired and starts trailing you. A strike dog is not the dog that runs pass a hot trail while your real strike dog hits it right behind the "Strike Dog". You know you get what you pay for and when you think you're getting a deal on a "Strike Dog" think again...watch the dog hunt before you pay....

well a strike dog to me is a dog that works out the truck and stops the hog without running it halfway across texas a real strike dog will put some teeth on a hog to keep it in one place a bay dog will bark at it and let it run off  lol

yes a good strike dog should keep it in one place but not catch, that 's how you get vet bills unless you like a running catch dog and a rough pack. I prefer my strike dog to bay and put teeth just to hold the pig until the help arrives. What I don't like is a dog the trails you and has been tagged strike dog...
