Matt and I hunted out in Navasota with "Gitdathawg" Hegar and crew this weekend. We ended up with 5 yesterday evening, nothing big, but the last one was a young boar with an attitude. Caught him right before dark and a couple a dogs needed to be tended to so we called it a day. Had a good fire, good food and cold beer last night, made a round this morning and came up empty. I sure enjoyed it.

FUN TIMES!!  We had just had a talk with the new guys on the hunt about how the hunt should go down and the things to expect and then all that flew out the window when a group of hogs started crossing the biggest pasture on the place while we were trying to get to the area that we wanted to start hunting haha.  Bays in the wide open, a true camera mans dream, Mike I am just glad you took the time to capture the pics you did!!!  I can still see two seperate bays going on in my mind with another couple hogs just standing there watching, it was crazy.  And I can proudly say that not a single shoat lost his life, we watched 5 dogs run past nearly a dozen shoats and piglets and to get to the hogs with some size.  I know it really isn't that big of a deal and I can't promise they would do it tomorrow but it was neat to watch.  Thanks again Hegar for having us out and to everyone there I enjoyed it and look forward to the next time....

Thanks guys for coming out it sure was fun and very tiring.    That last little boar wore me out!!   I am gonna have to start working out just to hog hunt.   Like matt said though,  we told the guys that we were taking hunting how this usually goes and....  bam here comes 30 hogs chargin across a wide open field.  So we dumped the dogs on them and ended up with 3 rite off the bat.  caught a total of 5 in less than 2 hrs.  which isn't bad considering the real hunt was supposed to sunday morning.
And harry that river was full banked and movin fast,  I wasnt gettin in it.... but I felt like I had after that last hog, soaked thigh down and covered mud!! Grin
