Made a hunt this AM, perfect day for hunting... turned old Shine out at daylight and finally put her in the box at 4pm... hunted the wheels right off that poor dog Grin .... and at the end of the day... all we had to show for it was a dead skunk, a stank a$$ dog, and a handful of jumped deer! Cheesy

The same 5k acres we hunted last week was a bust this week... Shine beat every bit of 3k acres to death and we walked most of it and couldn't find the first damn track... almost like the whole bunch just picked up overnight and changed zip codes!!! Grin

Ohh well, got to work Chub a little(first time she's been huntin' since she got cut last time), she did good, but I limited her run time... didn't want her to blow a gasket her first time back out Grin

I let my new pup Snook tag along with us today, at 15wks she seems to have good independence and likes to run with her nose down.... liking what I'm seeing so far!

My crew taking a break at the end of the day... discouraged... but not beaten Grin

It happens to all of us, but a dry run is still better than sittin at the house.

That's all part of it... if we didn't get skunked and out ran sometimes it wouldn't be any fun.

Going hunting is still fun even when coming home empty handed. We have been having the same thing here. There are no crops planted, most of the acorns are gone and feeders are empty, so the hogs are on the move. Here today, gone tomorrow. Fresh sign has been hard to come by. Undecided

Depending on how many beers I've had...skunks sometimes count towards the final tally. LOL

He's out.  And you're out.  And i don't think I'm in either.
