I have had a QuickTrack system the last 5 years now.. When I first got it I used it at least twice a week then didn't use it much for a while when I was working out of town. Now I've been using it about once every week or two for the last year. I know they say the batteries are supposed to last about 8 years in them but I think I may need to send them in to get replaced. I've been noticing lately that when I track my dogs I get a strong signal at times and weaker at others. I used to be able to tell how far my dogs were, if they were moving, and so on.. Have any of you ran your batteries on your collars low enough to notice any problems like this? Or am I just rusty with my tracker? I've also been hunting different places than I am used to so the terrain is a little different. Any input would be much appreciated!

It may be the terrain if it is real hilly? I've noticed that on mine before... but i'd say after 5 years, send them in and have them checked.

Not really.. It's fairly flat everywhere here. I think I am gonna just send in one collar at a time and get them fixed so I still have the others to use while it's getting fixed..

I have wildlife collars, but once the batteries start going low it can be hard to tell distance.

Yeah, I probably need to get them replaced. I think I've got my money's worth!

My quicktrack collars have gotten to where you cant really track even if the dog is close. But a newer collar will track just fine. I would send the collar back and get it worked on. Thats all it is.
