drive around til you see a yote and drop the greyhounds Grin  we got a guy up here that runs them with greyhounds and i think he is pretty successful.

I've got a big male blue lacy that has a sweet tooth for coyotes.  He's one of the few dogs that I've seen that's fast enough to run one down and still big enough to own it.

reggie - 3
coyotes - 0

He's out.  And you're out.  And i don't think I'm in either.

most people in the prairie country use a staghound  type dog.  there are a few forums around you can find.  i don't have any url's right off hand but there are a few.  some of em use hounds too depending on the terrain.

Greyhounds, I have been with a pack and it was a blast. Those Greyhounds are alot rougher than you think, they will run them down and stretch em out! Shocked

They run them with foxhounds here in Fl. Just like fox.

Not my game but the guys here will pour 20+ hounds to them. I dont know how successful they are but they sure make some good music.  Smiley

Im not exactly sure what kind of method you would prefer but another option would be a decoy dog.
Decoy dogs work great also and a few on this board use them or at least have in the past.
I am no expert on decoy dogs but I have owned hog dogs that would pick a fight with yots and run straight back to me were I was usually ready and waiting with my rifle. Grin. I lost count of all the coyotes I have killed this way.

Dont ask me how to train on though. It was just one of those things that happened.

julys, triggs, goodmans, and greyhounds back home, sometimes a staghound or wolfhound thrown in.

Coyotes are fast and pretty frail. Pits are definitely not the best dog for the job.

Ours have killed their fare share too. I don't know why but Lacy dogs and coyotes seem to be mortal enemies.
