There was not a pwrr this year because of the closing of the national forest to dog hunters.

Why did they stop hog dogging in the SHNF?

We can't exactly get the same story from all the federales, so I really can't tell you why. We get everything from "the hog doggers aren't as effective in their 60 day season as the gun hunters are 365 days", to "the hog doggers are the reason we have an over abundance of hogs in the shnf", and many other variations. Regardless of why we aren't allowed to hunt the national forrest anymore, the removal of our privilages there is a heavy blow to hog doggers in general. One interesting note is that you can still coon and squirrel hunt with dogs there. Something to think about.

Especially since squirrels and raccoons are indigenous and hogs are a non native destruction artist.

Has anyone contacted the forestry service to find out why they closed hog hunting with dogs? Try contacting your senetors or congress people or state reps and making a formal complaint with them, they helped me when i needed it.
