Well it happens and some time it happens to the best!! Gator was not the best strike dog in the world and probaly the worst dog on my place!!Gator when he was a year old was on my cull list everyday but he kept doing things that impressed me and I kept him!! He even BIT me one time and got away with it!!When it came time for me to go catch cattle he was my number 1 tool even my kids knew to grab him!! He could make 100 head bunch by himself!! I could scream and gator would catch a bear if I told him to!!! Well my wife and her 2 friends hunted the TDHA Comp. this weekend and caught 15 hogs bayed 30 but would call the dogs off and go try to find something bigger ended up with 3 decent barrs and 2 decent boars!! Gator was taken on this hunt as a 3rd string strike dog Sat. evening they bayed a bad booger there were four dogs on the ground and he cut them all the girls said Gator was given the hog all he had the hog was just that bad!!I was sitting on the buggy and Christy said when the hog broke Gator was pulling some hide but could not get him stopped!!He ran him 900 yards the stopped I thought that was odd but it could happen!!Gator was hurt bad and lived to this morning!! People who seen him work a cow knew what he was made of!!I could tell Gator stories all day! Several others could to!!!He will be missed around this joint!!Tuff as boot leather!! I bet he's got a heard bunched right NOW!! TALK TO THEM GATOR YOU CAN HOLD'EM TELL I GET THERE!!! RIP Little buddy!!!!

Dang, Chance I sure hate to hear that about ol Gator. He was an awsome, once in a lifetime kind of dog. We know what he meant to you and your family and he will deffinately be missed. His offspring will have some big shoes to fill....R.I.P. Gator.

Aww chance, I hated to hear that gator got hurt when y'all told me on Sunday. I only hunted with him once, but I sure enjoyed him. I know that he was in the best hands as far as saving him. I'm sorry to hear he didn't make it. I guess Heaven has a hog problem too, The Man has some really good dogs.

Cheers

Chance and Krystal,

Sorry to hear about Gator.  Seems like every time I heard a story about catching hogs or cattle, Gator's name was in there somewhere.

RIP Gator.
